Ulrika Hasselgren
Chief Sustainability Officer and Board Member, Coeli; Board Member, Brock Milton Capital
Ulrika Hasselgren is Chief Sustainability Officer and Board Member at the Swedish Asset Manager Coeli Group. She is a senior business leader with 20+ years in the finance industry having worked closely together with investors and asset managers in the Nordics, Europe, and North America, in previous roles as CEO/founding partner of Ethix SRI Advisors, MD/Global Head of RI Strategy at Institutional Shareholders Services (ISS), and Global Head of Sustainability & Impact Investment at Danske Bank. Ulrika has developed sustainability policies, investment strategies and products, created standard-setting research methodologies, and developed tools and education programs for investors and asset managers. She is board member of Fundrella AB, senior advisor to Infranode, has served on the boards of Eurosif, Dansif, and Swesif, chaired The LuxFlag ESG Label Eligibility Committee, been member of the CFA Institute ESG Disclosure Standard Working Group, EFRAG Project Task Force on non-financial reporting, is a certified board member, and a frequent speaker on sustainable investment and finance.
Before joining Coeli Group in January 2022, Ulrika served as Global Head of Sustainability & Impact Investment and was Member of Wealth Management Leadership team in Danske Bank in Copenhagen. In this role, she created a vision and strategic roadmap to embed sustainability into the core of the bank’s investment business and led the journey for ESG integration and active ownership across investment processes, products, and advisory.
Ulrika entered the finance industry in 1999, when she co-founded Ethix SRI Advisors (Ethix), and in 2000, co-created the innovative norm-based research methodology together with Sweden’s state pension fund AP7. Ethix developed into a solid ESG research and advisory business covering a global investment universe of developed and emerging markets, serving institutional investors and asset managers in the Nordics and across Europe. In 2004, AP7 and SGAM marked their commitment to Ethix by taking a 5% stake in the business. In 2014, to strengthen Ethix’s global footprint, Ulrika initiated collaboration with Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) – the world’s leading corporate governance and proxy advisor, who then acquired Ethix in 2015. Ulrika joined the ISS Executive Leadership team as Global Head of RI Strategy & ESG Integration, continuing to work closely with investors globally, until recruited to Danske Bank in 2018.
