Our alumni are making an impact! We regularly celebrate them for their recent achievements and this time around we have three who are making real waves in the ESG business landscape.
Agnes K Y Tai, CCB.D, has two Competent Boards hats. She is an alumni of our Climate Designation Program and also one of our world-renowned faculty members. Many congratulations to Agnes for starting a new role as Head of Sustainable Investing and Advisory at Arta Asset Management Limited. On top of that, she recently earned a PhD from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology!
Agnes is an inspirational sustainability and ESG investor, climate action advocate, board member, author and speaker. Agnes will also be a facilitator on our upcoming Climate Designation Program for board members.
Kudos, too, to Shireen Muhiudeen, GCB.D. She was recently appointed as an independent non-executive director of Media Prima Berhad, a Malaysian media giant.
Shireen is also the first female Chair of the Malaysia Stock Exchange (Bursa Malaysia) and the founder and managing director of APAC-based asset management firm, Corston-Smith-Asset Management. Shireen leads strategy and communications with a greater ESG focus, contributing research and thought leadership to the global investment community.
José Guillermo Garrido Lecca, GCB.D, CCB.D, has been busy! After only being on the board for seven months, he has just been appointed Chairman for San Fernando poultry company. Great work, José!
José has more than 35 years of national and international board experience. Even so, he believes his Competent Boards education made a real difference to his career. “Competent Boards defined my career at a turning point about ESG perspectives and its application along the business value chain,” he said.
We will be back soon with another round-up that celebrates our alumni making an impact in the business world. With more and more people going through our programs, this rate of success can only grow.
