Annette Stube
Chief Sustainability Officer, The LEGO Group; Board Member, Solvay
Annette Stube is Chief Sustainability Officer at the LEGO Group. The LEGO Group’s mission is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through the power of play.
The LEGO Group was founded in Billund, Denmark in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, its name derived from the two Danish words Leg Godt, which mean “Play Well”. Today, the LEGO Group remains a family-owned company headquartered in Billund. Its products are now sold in more than 120 countries, and employes more than 27000 people worldwide.
The LEGO Group wants our children to inherit a healthy planet, and succeeding with sustainability is therefore a key strategic issue for the Group.
POSITIONS OF TRUST
Annette Stube is a member of the Board of Solvay and WWF Denmark. She has served on the Board of Directors of Fortum, and has for 10 years been an Adjunct Professor at CBS, Copenhagen Business School. Annette has advised the Danish Government on Sustainability through many years.
EXPERIENCE
Annette served as Executive Vice President on the Executive Leadership Team of Stora Enso between 2020-2023 leading sustainability in the forest, packaging and biosolutions company.
From 2008-2020, Annette was Global Head of Sustainability in A.P. Moller – Maersk, a global shipping and logistics company.
Annette pioneered various sustainability programs in Novo Nordisk, a global pharmaceutical company, from 1997 and was part of the team that developed Novo Nordisk’s Triple Bottom Line approach until 2008.
With an MSc in organizational psychology from University of Copenhagen, Annette started her career with SOS-International, as a Manager for psychological crisis intervention teams and as Manager of supplier relations in Eastern Europe and Africa.
Annette has co-authored ‘Squaring the Sustainability Circle’ which was first published in 2021 (Danish) and in 2022 (English).
